Philosophy of Spiritual Direction:
As my website explains, I have a particular ministry to people who are isolated from or alienated by religion and who want to find their own deep meaning and sense of spirit. Interestingly, this has led to my practice having a fair number of religious professionals. My philosophy is that "the will of God is written in the deepest desires of our hearts," (Ignatius of Loyola) and that "sharing the state of the heart" (The Sisters of St. Joseph) is a pathway to meaning-making, self-understanding, and communion with the Divine. My method is a combination of listening and asking, singing and silence, and I bring a grounding and centering to each session.
