Spiritual direction is centered on discernment. This could be discerning where the Spirit is moving. It could be discerning vocation. It could be discerning meaning and purpose. The hope is that through deep listening as well as conversation, the directee will be able to both build skills as well as a relationship to Ultimate Reality, however it is that they understand that to be.
