Description:Spiritual Direction for me is about listening with no other agenda than to hear what is coming from the heart, mind, body and soul of the speaker. I support discernment – by holding space for the speaking of struggles and joys, questions and answers. Beyond listening, my tools include asking questions, offering guidance, inviting silence, sharing laughter and tears and most of all, bringing my full compassionate attention to the person I am with.
As a Unitarian Universalist for nearly 30 years, a Buddhist practitioner, lover of women’s rituals and religious humanist who has experienced unexpected gifts of grace during times of crisis, I welcome all the ways individuals relate or do not relate to Spirit, Mystery, God of many names and no name.
I came to Spiritual Direction after a career in Public Health and five years serving a pastoral size UU congregation. I have a special interest in working with candidates and ministers, and with people seeking to address racism, white privilege and systemic injustice. I want to support curiosity, strength and consistency for bringing more fairness, kindness, compassion and joy into creating and living in multicultural communities.
